Reclaiming an English tradition

Reclaiming an English tradition

Scotts of Thrapston says that the summerhouse - quintessentially English - has been enjoying a resurgence in popularity in recent years.

This, it adds, is as much to do with reclaiming the country's tradition and heritage as it is with the country's warmer climate.

So, with everyone in the licensed trade wanting to capitalise upon what will hopefully be a long, hot, World Cup winning summer, the company believes that its new Wine House will create a unique focal point for any outside area.

Julia Berrie, Scotts Marketing Manager says: “For most licensees, the outdoor area is often the largest area they own. It is a vital trading space, the use of which should be carefully considered, to make the most of its virtues from May - September. “

The Wine House - which forms part of a large range of summerhouses and outdoor structures said to be proving increasingly popular with the licenced trade - is ideal for couples and small groups and comes complete with seats, luxurious upholstery and a Cedar Shingle roof.

A storage feature fitted within the back panel of the structure provides space for storing glasses and bottles of wine, with space for more bottles - plus an ice bucket - available beneath the seats

Insulation for the Wine House can also be provided and by adding heating it can be used all year round.
