Salto Systems' new i-Locker electronic locker lock is designed to provide a high level of protection in a wide variety of leisure applications whilst linking into the access control and cashless vending facilities.
Many lockers are fitted with very basic mechanical locks which offer little in the way of resistance, a problem addressed by the new i-Locker lock which brings the latest in state-of-the-art electronic access control technology to the changing room in a low cost, easily retro-fitable format.
The lock features a large twist operated locking handle for ease of use, even with wet hands, and its durable wipe clean construction is resistant to most chemicals.
The access reader is built into the outside of the handle while the locking mechanism, electronic components and battery pack are all located on the inside of the locker door, safe from potential manipulation or vandalism.
The lock uses standard RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) protocols allowing it to be easily integrated with a wide range of networked PC management systems including the SALTO Access-Control-Software Pro Access and SALTO Hotel-Access-Management-Software HAMS.
Members can therefore use their ID for several applications in addition to opening their locker, including general access control, cashless vending and cashless payment functions.
The i-Locker also has the ability to link into the access system that controls the site, so a single user carries one form of ID that collects information and distributes it back to the main system for data basing and access control changes. Timed club membership is now controllable for both site access and the lockers.
A wide choice of ID-carriers for use with the lock is available to suit individual customer preferences including iButton, Smart Card, Legic Proximity or Mifare proximity technologies contained within card, wristband, key fob, watch or bracelet formats.
