McArdle Sport-Tec installs Stoke City's synthetic training pitch

McArdle Sport-Tec was recently selected by Professional Sportsturf Design consultants and Stoke City FC to install a synthetic turf pitch at the club’s new Clayton Wood Training Ground.

The 111m x 74m all-weather pitch installation took 15 weeks to complete and was ready for players to use in November 2010.

McArdle Sport-Tec installed the Desso iDNA 40 synthetic surface and Alex Stead, Desso spokesperson says: “We’re delighted that Stoke City selected ourproduct for their facility. The system offers playing conditions to the highest performance level – making Clayton Wood an ideal location for our first installation. However, our system is only as good as the installation and McArdle Sport-Tec completed this to a very high standard, which has been reflected in the positive feedback we have received from the club since the facility was opened.”

Now that the pitch has been in use for several weeks, Stoke FC training ground facilities manager Nick Robinson, says: “The pitch is used on a regular basis and the players and staff think it’s great. The project from start to finish was completed with the minimum of disruption, on time and on budget.
