Swell ride AirSurfer set to wipe out traditional zipline

The Snowboard model of the AirSurfer
Ride Entertainment has launched a brand new product, the AirSurfer, which, the company says, is redefining the traditional zipline.

By adding twists and turns and creating a standing experience – as if on a surfboard or snowboard – the AirSurfer offers a new take on the zipline. The motorised units can not only descend but also climb, turn corners and reach speeds of up to 55kph (34mph).

Ride Entertainment, who collaborated with TAIT Towers on the new attraction, has unveiled three different types of AirSurfer model: Snowboard (surfing), Soar (sitting), and Sniping (interactive). The wireless-controlled system course can be custom-designed and adapted to suit any attraction, venue or location.

“We are thrilled to release AirSurfer because it redefines what a zipline can do,” said Ed Hiller, CEO at Ride Entertainment.

“Experiences like surfing through the air and laying out designs that navigate around buildings are experiences we could only dream of 10 years ago,” he said. “Now, through advances in technology and the patented solutions created by TAIT’s engineering team, we feel we are providing an experience unlike any other in the attractions industry. Traditional ziplines and zip coasters cannot offer thrills or solutions like AirSurfer can.”
