Humans spend 90 percent of their lives indoors, at home and work, but the wellness revolution that has transformed every industry has been relatively slow coming to the real estate and architecture industries.

Now that’s changing fast, as more communities and architecture that master-plan the physical, mental and social wellbeing of occupants are on the drawing board.

And it will be a hot topic at the Global Wellness Summit taking place in Tyrol, Austria from 17 to 19 October.

For instance, a presentation organised by the Global Wellness Institute’s
Wellness Communities Initiative, Wellness Communities & Lifestyle Real Estate: The Next Frontier, will be led by Mia Kyricos, initiative chair and president, Kyricos & Associates, and will feature the work of this global group.

They will share views on how this category has taken shape over the last decade; provide a baseline understanding of how to define “wellness communities” today; and spotlight standout global examples.

Highlights from their new white paper on how to attract and measure investment in wellness communities will be presented – along with an exciting research announcement.

A panel on Wellness and Architecture, headed up by Liz Terry, CEO of Leisure Media and CLADglobal, will feature a team from Arup Foresight, a think-tank on the future of the built environment, and leading architect, Lars Krückeberg, founding partner of global firm GRAFT, exploring topics like cutting-edge design, and how operators can best work with architects to develop a wellness space.

The Summit’s 10th-anniversary theme is Back to the Future – and this is just one example of how the agenda will be packed with speakers exploring the future of wellness.
