Future Fit will be returning as the official Education Partner for Elevate 2024, cementing their industry-leading reputation for raising the bar in the world of physical activity. The partnership continues a legacy of education provision between the two organisations, with their shared values for innovation and collaboration exemplifying what makes Elevate so unique.

Offering unparalleled learning and networking opportunities, Elevate brings together over 250 leading suppliers with gamechangers and decision makers within the health and fitness industry, making it the UK’s largest trade show dedicated to fitness, sport and physical activity.

The 2023 show saw Future Fit take to the stage to host panel discussions, presentations and interviews that shared the expertise garnered through thirty years in the physical activity industry. But, in a sector-first, Future Fit and Elevate continued to work together after the event to take these conversations beyond the show itself, with the pioneering Beyond the Talk series that has continued throughout the year.

Building upon the important discussions that began at Elevate, Beyond the Talk brought together renowned industry names like John Oxley, CEO at Life Leisure, Andy King, Director of Miova and Martyn Oakey, Head of Fitness at Everlast Gyms to dig deeper into the challenges facing the physical activity sector and how we can work together to overcome them, raising professional standards and making an impact to the health of the nation.

When it comes to providing learning and development solutions to benefit the sector, the willingness of Future Fit to continually evolve fits perfectly with the ethos of Elevate. Nowhere is this demonstrated more clearly, than in the work that Future Fit are doing around Leadership and Management, not only creating education to support the leaders of today, but looking forwards to create the leadership the sector will need tomorrow.

Carl Richards, Head of Group Operations and Education at Future Fit, explained why the continued partnership with Elevate was so important; “We know that, as a sector, collaboration is key to tackling health inequalities and driving forwards with the Pivot to Active Wellbeing, so having the opportunity to work with Elevate again this year means that we can be pivotal in creating those conversations, and then using them to build learning and development solutions that organisations need to best support their employees and their communities.” As a participant in the inaugural episode of Beyond the Talk, Carl knows the importance of ensuring that the issues highlighted at Elevate are used to generate action; having headed up a discussion around inclusivity in fitness and education, Future Fit are now working with Paralympian and founder of Accessercise, Ali Jawad, to create EDI training to support both a more diverse workforce, and reach a wider section of the population.

The partnership between Elevate and Future Fit signals a commitment from both to continue to support innovation throughout the health and wellbeing space. Having announced the acquisition of both iCareiMove, and Biomechanics Education, at previous Elevate events, Future Fit will be aiming to continue their legacy for thought leadership and evolution at this year’s event.

Reflecting on the future direction of the sector, Carl added “Both Future Fit and Elevate want to help change the perception and role of the traditional leisure model so that it can fully support the health sector, enabling communities to reduce inactivity and build healthier lifestyles. We know this will take not only collaboration, but education, and we’re proud to be working together to create that.”

Elevate will take place at the London Excel Arena on the 12th and 13th of June 2024; register to attend here.

Elevate is the UK’s largest physical activity trade event. Held annually Elevate brings the physical activity sector together with those working in performance and health to tackle one of the most important challenges of our time: tackling physical inactivity.
“The importance of the event, Elevate, is to bring together the fitness industry, the technology industry, the healthcare sector and the really important people - who are the practitioners who promote physical activity - and give them a sound bed of evidence to take away and use in their everyday lives. New equipment, new ideas, new energy.” Prof. Charlie Foster, World Health Organisation and Oxford University.
