Hubbard Ice teaming up with Everton

Everton Football Club has purchased a second Scotsman ice flaker from Hubbard Ice Systems to provide injury relief for its players, as well as a Scotsman supercuber for the cooling and presentation of drinks.

Flake ice is said to have the advantage of being easily moulded to the contours of the body part, whether it’s a finger, a knee, leg or a back and so is perfect for use in ice packs.

To be used with players from U15s right up to International stars, the Scotsman AF80 is capable of producing up to 70kg of flake ice in 24 hours, claimed to be ample for team ice baths.

Explaining the benefits of ice baths, Chris Davis, Commercial Director of Hubbard Ice Systems, says: “When you get into an ice bath for 5 to 10 minutes, the icy cold water causes your blood vessels to tighten and drains the blood out of your legs. So when you get out of the bath, your legs fill up with 'new' blood that invigorates your muscles with oxygen to help the cells function better.

Scotsman ice flakers are used by most of the UK’s leading football clubs including Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Bolton Wanderers and Chelsea.

The Scotsman Easy-FIT EC46 was purchased by Everton for use in drinks in their restaurant area. Their unique thimble shape is designed to prevent ‘splashback’ when the cube is placed in the drink or when carbonated drinks are added.
