A new arena in Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea, allows fans of the popular League of Legends gaming franchise the chance to watch top players compete live and in-person.

LoL Park, created by League of Legends' developer Riot Games, holds up to 500 people, with games stations in the centre for multi-player challenges. Large screens will sit above the gaming area to broadcast the battles to the viewing audience. The seats are right on top of the action, so spectators are also able to see individual players’ screens and exactly what moves those individuals are making in-game.

"I only hope that LoL Park can provide a unique experience to everyday life," said Riot Games Korea representative Lee Seung Hyun.

"The League of Legends-focused stadium has been prepared to be a pleasant space for players and viewers alike."

Other facilities at the arena include PCs for practice in the player waiting rooms. There are also rooms for commentators and make-up rooms for TV cameras and interviews, which are held back in the main arena after games.

For the fans, a café, 100-seat internet café and a Riot Games retail store are included, as well as an exhibition zone which has League of Legends statues, league champions Korea team uniforms and 3D figures.

The arena officially opened last week for the League of Legends World Championship Play-ins and will be the home venue of League of Legends Champions Korea from 2019.
